Silver spray made from ultra-pure water containing 0.003% ionic silver nanoparticles, it has been demonstrated to have a 4 log reduction of the bacterial load within 4 hours, sufficient to kill most bacteria and fungi.
All chronic wounds (leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers), surgical wounds prior to closure, graft sites prior to placing the graft, postoperative wounds at risk of infection (prior to applying a post-op dressing), trauma wounds – especially irregular shapes, burns (1st and 2nd degree) and skin folds
Do not use if patient has a confirmed allergy to silver. Do not use on lactating mothers, as silver may pass through breast milk.
A sterile, non-woven pad consisting of a high M (mannuronic acid) calcium alginate and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). Silver ions are released in the presence of wound fluid. As fluid is absorbed, the alginate forms a soft gel. Effective for up to 7 days.
