Description

Flexible non-occlusive contact layer containing a protease inhibitor (TLC-NOSF) that inhibits matrix metalloproteinases and promotes the formation of new blood vessels. Use with a secondary absorbent dressing for exuding wounds. NICE 2019 medical technology guidance (MTG42) states that evidence supports the case for adopting UrgoStart dressings to treat diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers.

 

Indications

Non-exudating to low-exuding leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and long-standing acute wounds. Suitable for lining cavities or awkwardly placed wounds and for wicking deep wounds. 

Contraindications

Do not use on infected or critically colonised wounds, cancerous wounds, fistulas, which may reveal a deep abscess, or if there is a known sensitivity to the dressing
