Description

Non-adhesive, ionic hydrogel sheet dressing that will either donate or absorb fluid, depending on the moisture level of the wound, to maintain an optimal moisture level for wound healing. The gel is permeable to water vapour.

Indications

As a primary dressing to assist in autolytic debridement by hydrating necrotic and sloughy tissue, and also by absorbing exudate. Suitable for painful wounds and skin conditions such as leg ulcers, burns, scalds and radiation therapy damage. To manage nociceptive wound pain. To be used with secondary dressings where appropriate. Can be used under compression.

Contraindications

Should not be used as a covering for deep, narrow cavities or sinuses. Wound should be checked frequently, as rapid absorption may lead to the wound becoming dryer than expected. Dressing should be changed if it becomes discoloured or opaque.
