Askina Calgitrol Ag
B Braun
Description
Askina Calgitrol matrix formulation combines calcium alginate and silver alginate with 10% of bounded water. In contact with exudate, alginate matrix forms a soft gel, which enables the continuous release of silver ions from the entire dressing surface. The concentration of silver ions in the wound is maintained for 7 days at the level of 60ppm.
Indications
Infected or critically colonised partial- to full-thickness wounds (category I–IV pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, second-degree burns, donor sites).
Contraindications
Known sensitivity to alginates or silver; where the presence of metals is contraindicated; ulcers resulting from infection such as tuberculosis, syphilis, or deep fungal infections; third-degree burns.
